  1. Differentiate between Aging and Posterize graphic filters.


    Answer: Aging: Simulates the effects of time on a picture. Can be applied several times.
    Posterize: Posterize makes a picture appear like a painting by reducing the number of colours used.

  2. Give any two uses of creating hyperlinks in a spreadsheet.


    Answer: Hyperlinks can be used in Calc
    • to jump to a different location from within a spreadsheet and
    • can lead to other parts of the current file, to different files or even to web sites.

  3. Under Record changes feature, one can control the changes that appear on the screen using filters. Explain any two criteria on which these filters are based.


    Answer: You can filter based on:
    • Date – Only changes made in a certain time range are displayed.
    • Author – Only changes made by a specific author are displayed. This is especially useful if you have multiple reviewers on the worksheet.
    • Range – Only changes made in a specific range of cells are displayed. This is especially useful if you have a large spreadsheet and only want to review a part of it.
    • Comment – Searches the content of the comments and only displays changes which have comments that match the search criteria.

  4. Differentiate between data organized in a flat file and a relational form.


    Answer: Flat File: Data is stored in a single table. Usually suitable for less amount of data.
    Relational form: Data is stored in multiple tables and the tables are linked using a common field. Relational is suitable for medium to large amount of data.

    Answer: WWW stands for World Wide Web. World Wide Web (abbreviated as WWW or W3, commonly known as the Web), is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet.
    With a web browser, one can view web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia, and navigate between them via hyperlinks.

    Answer: (a) Scenario: Scenarios are a tool to test “what-if” questions. Each scenario is named and can be edited and formatted separately. When you print the spreadsheet, only the content of the currently active scenario is printed.
    A scenario is essentially a saved set of cell values for your calculations. You can easily switch between these sets using the Navigator or a drop-down list which can be shown beside the changing cells.
    (b) Goalseek: Goal seek is one of the tools used in “what-if analysis” on computer software programs. A what-if analysis is a process of changing values in cells to see how these changes will affect formula outcomes on the worksheet.

  3. Write any four numeric data types in DBMS.


    Answer: Numeric Data types in DBMS are – BOOLEAN, TINYINT, SMALLINT, INTEGER, BIGINT, NUMERIC, DECIMAL, REAL, FLOAT, DOUBLE
