- (v) Where will a repeater be placed in the suggested network layout? Justify your answer.
Answer:
(i) STAR Topology
(ii) WAN. Because the distance is more than 40 km.
(iii) PRODUCTION. Because it have maximum number of computers.
(iv) Switch: Switch must be placed at every division. Because Switch helps in creating segmented LAN. All division have more than 2 computers.
(v) Repeater is required between PRODUCTION and SALES, due the distance is more than segment length 100 m.
Optional: Repeater MAY be placed between SERVICE and PRODUCTION, because distance is 90 m, near to 100 m.
